Since 2014, Concentric has provided regulatory advisory and Project Management Office (PMO) to New York’s investor-owned electric utilities related to their collaborative participation in New York Public Service Commission policy proceeding that seeks to implement a new vision for the electric industry (referred to as “Reforming Energy Vision” or “REV”). Concentric worked with leaders from each of the utilities to joint policy filings during the Commission’s initial year-long policy development phase and has drafted numerous policy findings on detailed policy and implementation issues over the subsequent three years. These filings address business models, regulatory frameworks, benefit-cost analyses, clean energy policies, rate design, DER compensation, low-income issues, energy storage, electric vehicles, outcome-based metrics, energy efficiency, and distribution system planning. Concentric provided framework guidance to the utilities to estimate potential bill impacts under alternative rate design options. In our PMO role, we organize and facilitate several calls per month among leadership and SME teams.
