Caroline O’Neill is a financial and economic consultant with more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry. Her broad range of experience includes merger and acquisition due diligence and transaction support, regulatory policy formation asset valuations, and asset-based transactions.
Ms. O’Neill has assisted numerous utility companies, infrastructure funds, pension funds, and private equity with acquisition and merger due diligence of electric, gas and water utilities, including regulatory, financial and market assessments. These engagements often involve assisting buying or selling parties with reviewing and assessing proposed transactions from a commercial perspective, as well as evaluating the terms of the transaction, risk characteristics, and employee and community considerations.
Additionally, she has extensive state and federal regulatory experience with both electric and natural gas issues. Ms. O’Neill has recently been involved in developing long-term plans for gas distribution utilities, helping guide them through the energy transition and local decarbonization policies and initiatives. She holds a M.S. in Information Library Science from University at Buffalo, and a B.A. in Political Science from Le Moyne College.
