Michael Buckley is a strategic leader with a forward-thinking approach and extensive experience in the North American energy industry. He is well versed in utility industry trends; data analysis and financial modeling; merger and acquisition (M&A) due diligence; municipalization feasibility studies; environmental, social, governance (ESG) and sustainability issues; greenhouse gas reporting; meeting facilitation; and providing analytical and research support on various industry issues. Michael Buckley regularly supports Concentric’s financial advisory service by leveraging his expertise in energy industry economics and regulation, paired with his financial analysis background to engage with clients on all aspects of utility M&A and corporate transaction issues.
Prior to joining Concentric, Mr. Buckley served as the Director of Financial Analysis at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). In this capacity, he was responsible for managing the aggregate financial data of all investor-owned electric utilities in the United States, acting as the primary steward of the electric industry’s financial data. He also analyzed key concepts and trends relevant to the electric industry and regularly issued financial expertise to the leadership at EEI. In addition, he led EEI’s sustainability program for the electric utility industry, facilitating a multi-year stakeholder process to enhance the uniformity and reliability of ESG data and sustainability reporting for utilities. Prior to EEI, Mr. Buckley worked as an Economic Analyst for Exeter Associates, an independent consulting firm specializing in regulatory economics. Mr. Buckley earned a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Colorado State University in 2010.
