The State of Maine is considering a potential takeover of Maine’s existing investor-owned electric transmission and distribution utilities to form a government-owned electric utility. Proponents of a government takeover have suggested that Maine’s electric reliability has suffered and that consumer-owned utilities have better reliability than investor-owned utilities such as Central Maine Power.
Concentric was retained by Avangrid to review the veracity of these claims. This study presents Concentric’s analysis and findings.
