The State of Maine is considering a potential takeover of Maine’s existing investor-owned electric transmission and distribution utilities to instead form a government-owned electric utility. Proponents of such action have supported such a takeover by suggesting that Central Maine Power’s electric rates are higher than consumer-owned utilities.
Concentric was retained by Avangrid to review the electric costs for residential customers of comparable consumer-owned utilities and investor-owned utilities. This study presents Concentric’s analysis and findings.
