We were retained to evaluate and provide our opinion on the prudence of the client’s commercial strategy for a refurbishment project at their nuclear facility, as well as the specific commercial strategies being pursued for multiple major work packages.
Our review considered the client’s ability to manage the project under a variety of commercial strategies, the availability of alternatives in the market for the required services, and the client’s criteria for its selected commercial strategy. For each major work package, our role was to review and opine on the prudence of the commercial strategy, the request for proposals used to identify preferred vendors, contract negotiations, and the final vendor agreements.
Throughout our engagement, we provided the client with suggestions to enhance their commercial strategies. We prepared a series of separate reports on the alignment of commercial strategies with the client’s capabilities and project management approach for each major work package within our scope of work. Our assessments were filed by the company in a proceeding before their regulator.
