Utility Business Model and Regulatory Framework

Concentric organized, delivered, facilitated, and documented two multi-day “Utility-of-the-Future” workshops for a vertically-integrated utility as a level setting exercise that would establish a foundation for development of corporate strategy and participation in an anticipated generic policy proceeding. The first workshop addressed the key change drivers and business model implications, the role of innovation and new products and services, and elements of the regulatory framework that will need to be aligned with the new business models and evolving role of the utility in the deployment of distributed energy resources (DER) and customer engagement.  The second workshop focused on the utility’s strategic objectives and existing regulatory/legislative environment and a potential integrated business model that provides value to customers and the network.
