Hanhan Hammer is a leading expert in the design, monitoring, and analysis of wholesale power markets. She has worked with three ISO/RTOs across the U.S and brings over 15 years of experience and expertise in wholesale market rules, price formation, market forecasts, co-optimization, market participation, grid operations, utilities-ISO coordination, regulatory strategy, and stakeholder engagement.

Ms. Hammer’s specialized knowledge encompasses energy storage, co-located resources, renewables, demand response, distributed energy resources (DERs), and Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), as well as conventional resources. She is well-versed in wholesale power pricing, transmission congestion pricing, and ancillary services in the Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets. On the regulatory front, she has extensive experience developing compliance strategies for FERC Orders 2222, 841, 831, and 825, and has been recognized as an industry expert by committees, regulatory agencies, and industry forums. Ms. Hammer has a proven track record of achieving consensus among stakeholders and regulators.

Before joining Concentric, Ms. Hammer played a key role in designing just and reasonable market rules at ISO-NE and monitored anti-competitive behavior at MISO and SPP. Her responsibilities included market analysis, data warehouse development, authoring State of the Market Reports, and presenting findings to stakeholder committees, State Public Utility Commissions (PUCs), and the FERC.
