A midwestern investor-owned utility company engaged Concentric to develop an integrated consolidation roadmap aimed at establishing a single operating utility and rate jurisdiction in each of its operating states. Concentric created the integrated consolidation roadmap through three workstreams, including the consolidation of legal entities and rate jurisdictions, and the potential establishment of a services company. Each workstream involved the client’s subject matter experts, who evaluated potential pathways and solutions through targeted interviews and information sharing sessions.
The workstreams identified key consolidation goals and outcomes, along with challenges, evaluation options, and a potential timeline for the consolidation roadmap with offramps as needed. After drafting the roadmaps for each workstream, Concentric integrated these into a cohesive timeline that highlighted flexibility. The Concentric team presented its findings in late December 2024 and early 2025. Subsequently, Concentric assisted the client in developing materials for stakeholder engagement sessions focused on the consolidation pathways and considerations.
